OSINT: Visual Intelligence (VISINT) and Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) is an intensive, practice-oriented course designed to equip cyber intelligence analysts with the skills to extract actionable intelligence from visual materials. The course covers EXIF metadata analysis, advanced reverse image search techniques, location identification from visual cues, and detection of manipulated or out-of-context imagery — all structured to integrate the VISINT/GEOINT workflow into daily OSINT practice. 

What You'll Learn

• Define VISINT and GEOINT, explain the distinction between them, and contextualize their applications within cyber threat intelligence workflows.
• Read and interpret EXIF metadata structures — including camera information, capture settings, timestamps, and GPS coordinates — using ExifTool and equivalent utilities.
• Understand the underlying mechanics of reverse image search technology (feature extraction, vector conversion, similarity calculation) and apply platforms such as Google, Bing, and TinEye effectively.
• Perform location estimation from visual cues including natural features, architectural characteristics, traffic signage, language, and vehicle license plates, then validate findings through map narrowing techniques.
• Execute coordinate-based research on Google Earth and Google Maps using 3D view and street-view (man-drop) techniques to conduct scene verification.
• Complete a structured GEOINT exercise end-to-end: from initial cue identification through Google/Google Earth research to building and structure confirmation, with full documentation at each stage.
